  • DESCRIPTION
    Biopiran® is indicated for the treatment and control of Babesia spp caused by Babesiosis in cattle, horses and dogs, as well as caused by Anaplasma anaplasmosis in cattle. Both diseases are caused by hemoparasites transmitted by vectors such as ticks and other insects. Biopiran ® can be used in situations where animals are in susceptible areas of incidence of babesiosis and anaplasmosis or in cases where infections are mixed or unknown agent. When Biopiran® is used under the conditions described, the isolated administration does not confer immunity. This will always depend on the exposure of the animal to the causative agents, Babesia and Anaplasma. Observe animals and early clinical presentation, such as fever, depression, loss of appetite, breathing, hemoglobinuria, jaundice, etc., apply Biopiran® signs. Together with the use of this product, it is recommended to provide symptomatic treatment (antipyretics, antiinflammatory) and support (antibiotics, vitamins, hematopoietic).
  • DOSE
    CATTLE: Via subcutaneous or intramuscular application. In the treatment of babesiosis confirmed Biopiran® administered 1 mL per 100 kg body weight. In the treatment of anaplasmosis and mixed infections (Anaplasma and Babesia) administering 2.5 mL of Biopiran ® per 100 kg body weight. Should anaplasmosis, applying a second dose may be needed when the first signs of the disease appear. In controlled exposure to hemoparasites the first signs of infection with Babesia appear after an incubation period ranging from 8 to 14 days depending on the species. The recommended control babesiosis dose is 1 ml per 100 kg. Some weeks after varies from 4 to 8 weeks, signs of anaplasmosis are presented. If the clinical picture is severe, it is recommended to use a dose 2.5 ml per 100 kg body weight. Biopiran® in chemoprophylaxis can be used for prevention when susceptible cattle is introduced in enzootic areas or at risk of anaplasmosis and / or babesiosis under the following schedule: Day 0: Introduction of susceptible animals. Exposing them to fly and ticks without giving any treatment. Day 5 - 7: First application of Biopiran®. Treat cattle against fly and tick as the calendar baths exploitation. Day 42: Second application Biopiran® never repeat treatment with Biopiran® before 7 days have elapsed from the last administration. EQUINE: Intramuscular route of application If babesiosis, administer 2 mL per 100 kg body weight. Used prophylactically, this dose will protect animals approximately 4 weeks. When the causative agent is Theileria equi (B.equi), administration of a second dose will require 24 hours after the first. CANINE: Via intramuscular or subcutaneous application. If Babesiosis, Ehrlichiosis and administer 0.5 mL per 20 kg body weight, repeat therapy within two weeks
  • WARNINGS
    This product should not be used 90 days before slaughter of animals intended for human consumption. Treated animals may present signs as cholinergic salivation, lacrimation and cholic passenger. It is recommended as a treatment Atropine Sulfate and consult a veterinarian. Avoid in renal lung, or liver disfunction. Do not use in animals exposed to cholinesterase - inhibiting drugs, pesticides or chemicals. Does not apply in dairy cattle whose milk is intended for human consumption, or donkeys. Not exceed the recommended dose. Not administered intravenously. Store in a cool, dry place. Keep out of reach of children.
