  • DESCRIPTION
    Minoxel Plus contains ceftiofur hydrochloride, a broad spectrum antibiotic belonging to the cephalosporin. It is active against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, including producing varieties of b - lactamase. Like other cephalosporins, ceftiofur is bactericidal result of inhibition of cell wall synthesis. The chemical name Ceftiofur hydrochloride is: 5-Thia-1-azabicyclo [4.2.0] oct-2-ene-2-carboxylic acid, 7 - [[(2-amino-4-thiazolyl) (methoxyimino) - acetyl] amino] -3 - [[(2-furanylcarbonyl) thio] methyl] -8- oxo -, hydrochloride salt, [6R- [6b, 7b (Z)]] -. INDICATIONS CATTLE: Minoxel Plus is indicated in the treatment of bovine respiratory disease (pneumonia or shipping fever) associated Pasteurella haemolytica, Pasteurella multocida and Haemophilus somnus. Likewise it is indicated for the treatment and control of cattle with acute interdigital necrobacillosis (gabarro) which are involved agents Fusobacterium necrophorum , and / or Bacteroides melanogenicus. PORCINE: Minoxel Plus is indicated for the treatment and control of swine bacterial respiratory disease (swine bacterial pneumonia) associated with Actinobacillus (Haemophilus) pleurop-pneumoniae, Pasteurella multocida, Salmonella choleraesuis and Streptococcus suis. CLINICAL MICROBIOLOGY: BOVINE: ceftiofur been demonstrated in vitro and in vivo activity against Pasteurella haemolytica-lytica of, Pasteurella multocida and Haemophilus somnus, three major pathogenic bacteria associated with bovine respiratory disease (pneumonia or shipping fever).
  • DOSE
    CATTLE: Administer cattle at a dose of 1 to 2 mg ceftiofur per kilogram of body weight (1 to 2 mL of the suspension per 50 kg body weight). The treatment should be repeated at 24 hour intervals for three consecutive days. Animals that do not show signs of improvement after three treatments may again be treated on days 4 and 5. SWINE: Administer pigs at a dose of 1 to 3 mg ceftiofur per kilogram of body weight (1 to 3 mL of the suspension per 50 kg <vivo). The treatment should be repeated at 24 hour intervals for three consecutive days. Animals that do not show signs of improvement after three treatments may again be treated on days 4 and 5. ADMINISTRATION BOVINE: intramuscular and subcutaneous. SWINE: intramuscular.
  • WARNINGS
    Penicillins and cephalosporins can cause hypersensitivity in human (allergies) by injection, inhalation, ingestion or skin contact. Hypersensitivity to penicillins may lead to cross sensitivity to cephalosporins and vice versa. Allergic reactions to these substances can be serious. Therefore: Do not handle this product if you know you are sensitized or if you have been advised not to work with such products. Handle this product with great care, taking every precaution to avoid contact with it. If after exposure to the product you begin to exhibit signs such as itchy skin, should seek immediate medical attention and show the doctor this warning. Swelling of the face, lips or eyes or difficulty breathing are more serious symptoms and require urgent medical attention. Do not use in animals hypersensitive to cephalosporins or other betalactam antibiotics. PHARMACEUTICAL PRECAUTIONS: Shake well before using. The product should be completely consumed within 14 days after removal of the first dose. Keep out of reach of children.
