  • DESCRIPTION
     Poultry: Prevention and treatment of chronic respiratory disease caused by Mycoplasma gallisepticum, Mycoplasma synoviae infectious synovitis and other infections caused by microorganisms susceptible to the formula. Pigs: Treatment of enzootic pneumonia caused by Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae, swine dysentery, CCPP, ileitis and leptospirosis. MECHANISM OF ACTION: Its mechanism of action is to inhibit protein synthesis, due to the 50S ribosomal level unit. It generates less resistance to tylosin, even in the case of mycoplasmas. SPECTRUM: Perhaps his most notable property is its effectiveness against mycoplasma, especially: Mycoplasma gallisepticum, Mycoplasma synoviae, Mycoplasma meleagridis and Mycoplasma hypneumoniae, tamnién is active against Treponema hyodisenteriae, Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae, Streptococcus suis, Leptospira species and Escherichia coli as well as against other aerobes. Reduces mortality of broilers, turkeys and pigs increases weight gain and improves the response of animals to respiratory disease. Pharmacokinetics: Tiamulin is provided with food. After initial administration, reaches peak plasma levels in 2 to 4 hours and 85% is absorbed. It is excreted in a slower phase, mainly in the bile and renally. Given its slow excretion, drug antibacterial values are obtained for 24 hours. Serum have rapid increase phase (30 min), a short phase of platform (30 to 60 min) and a slow decline phase. It shows an enterohepatic circulation and is biotransformed in more than 20 metabolites, some of which have antibacterial activity. Elimination occurs in urine, bile and feces. Since it is a lipophilic basic drug with a pKa of 7.6, it reaches different tissues relatively easily and achieve significant concentrations in milk.
